Hoot 8 -- Welcome Back to School!

Hope you all had a fun fall break, and welcome back to school!
As cold weather approaches, please make sure to check that your child has a full set of extra clothing at school. It won't hurt to keep a pair of mittens, a hat, and slippers in their cubby as well.

Oct 7: Scholastic book box has arrived! Orders will be going home on Tuesday.

Oct 28-Nov 8: parent conferences. You will be receiving an email notification from Sign Up Genius to  reserve your conference spot.
PLEASE NOTE THAT DURING THE PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE PERIOD (Oct 28-Nov 7) THERE WILL BE NO CLUBS AND TUTORING. Aftercare will still be available.
Oct 27: October Scholastic order due -- class code: PQNHX
To order, go to https://clubs.scholastic.com/home  and click "Parents Get Started" (yellowish section on the right) It will ask for our class code: PQNHX. Enter the code to access book orders and to make purchases. Last day to place an order is Thursday, Oct. 27.   For more info on how to order, please see earlier post, Scholastic Book Club.
Oct 31, 2:30pm: Student of the Month Celebration. This month we are honoring two outstanding students: Ariana Romero and Zoe Bromley. 
Oct 31: Halloween (There will be more info to follow. A couple rules of thumb: we stay away from sugary treats and gory costumes.)

Requests:
pumpkins and gourds of any size and shape
maps of any kind
prizes for treasure chest (small items, for example, used toys from your child's play bin, or stuff made by your child, nature finds)
leaves, fruit, seeds
